webber
There are a number of other gases suitable for use other than air. Helium as previously stated is suitable, but not preffereable due to its high cost, and its ability to explore the smallest of leaks. webber
M ROBSON
Just remember that Nitrogen isn't as harmless as you might think, If you have a leak from a large enough source and displace the Oxygen in the air around you then you will starve yourself of oxygen and drop dead on the spot, no warning signs! I work a lot around Liquid Nitrogen and Nitrogen gas and this is a serious threat, our work area is covered in Oxygen monitoring sensors. Mark. magicaxeman
I thought the biggest problem apart from gases that may ignite was that using other gases is banned? Im sure gas guns and varients of such where banned back in the late 60's? with only CO2 ones being allowed again after the handgun ban? So they way I have always understood it is that PCP's are only legal if using breathing air as the propellent and under the legal limit (Im talking about non FAC guns)
webber
M ROBSONS comments are correct. However the volume of NITROGEN involved in our case of say a 12 Litre cylinder and buddy bottle would be insufficient to cause any problems what so ever. webber
