Gun Watch Posted July 5, 2017 Report Share Posted July 5, 2017 WS Riley hammer £600 16 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Very Good Condition Sheffield, South Yorkshire Side by Side, 1/4 Choke, 3/4 Choke, 30" barrels Description W.S.RILEY 16g shot gun Used very good condition Hammer 1/4 choke 3/4 choke 30" barrels 14 1/4 pull to the front trigger Just back from the proof house after a nitro reproof so mint bores tight to the day as new. blueing is original thin in places but very good overall. Wood is totally original and free from cracks and splits. Sometime in the early 1900's it was rebarreled very well indeed by the midland gun company so unfortunatley the barrels are not the original damascus it was made with.The gun was made in the early part of the 1800's. The stock fore end and all the hard ware including the hammers side plates trigger guard and triggers are all original.The gun for it's age is in first class working order a pleasure to hold and shoot over hundred and twenty years of English history and craftmanship for under a thousand pounds. selling this for my brother who lives at North Coates near Grimsby if you Pm me I will give you his number. forgot to mention this has a underlever for opening the barrels.
