BigGun1
I know it's probably a daft question and there must me an obvious answer that I don't know but why isn't there more choices of .22lr ammo?? I know there are lots of makes but why not weights and styles? how about nosler tips? why not promethious style nylon rounds with steel inserts? If you could re-load your own there would be so much choice but it seems the most popular round on the market is restricted to 38 grn hollow points or 40 grn solid, high velocity or subs. Why not a 20 grn wadcutter? OK remmington yellow jackets 34 grn and a few other odd balls but why?? Thanks in advance!
dunganick
BTips woudlnt expand properly in a .22lr, they just dont have the velocity. Wad cutters are used for target use generally, and i doubt you could get a .22lr bullet as light as 20 grain as you physically need something to fill the space in the front of the case and the bullet needs some length to staibalise (spelt wrong) and stop it key holeing.
