Scully
A bunch of us went out about 3pm this aft’ into the woods which make up a BIG commercial local shoot. There was plenty of wind this morning which promised a good shoot, but by 3pm it had died completely so the birds were very high. Despite getting under a flight line the birds were stratospheric ( ish ? ) and although I managed to get a few I think most of them were down to luck rather than skill. Why do they fly so high when there’s no wind? The annoying thing is I debated with myself to go with my usual pigeon choking of full and full, and then left the house with what I’d left in from the game season....half and half. We ended the evening with a bag of around 90 pigeons; amazingly all hung in the game shed for collection by a dealer!
