Zapp
After itching to go out for weeks I finally got my chance today and took the afternoon off and went up to a field of beans which backs onto a wood and has a good flightline running through it. The birds were keeping very low thanks to the wind, and were coming in very fast, not far above the top of the beans (about head height). I got myself into a sparse patch of the crops near the boundary and began to wait. Not having been out for a while I wasnt anticipating much so I had only stuck one box of carts into my pocket (big mistake!). To say the next 2 hours was fun would be a huge understatement! The birds kept on coming in steadily and after a superb couple of hours shooting at birds which were coming into the woods like comets, I was out of shells! My bag for the aftenoon was 18, though I only managed to find 11 of these due to the crop being too dense to walk through without damaging it. Most enjoyable days shooting I've had for a long while, which shows you never can tell what its going to be like . ZB
