ShaggyRS6
Item Reviewed Deerhunter Boot Bag Design No. 7034 Colour: 40 Innovation Description: Boot bag Size: 17 litre Materials: Oxford nylon pvc coating Deerhunter Innovation 40 has been created from a mixture of ground hunting scenarios, but also bird level scenarios. The 3D-effect is made more prominent via different earth coloured patterns in order to achieve the optimal camouflage. Continuing on the theme of the Deerhunter range of products the next item that I have managed to get my hands on is Deerhunters’s Camo Boot Bag. Now obviously I am not gong to be able to come up with pages of text as it is just a boot bag, but, I will by the end of the review hopefully be able to give you an idea of whether spending 15 or so pounds is actually worth it. Boots do get dirty, not so much in the summer, although you could argue that this summer in the UK has been more like a warm Autumn, the point is boots do get dirty and that dirt will be transferred to your car, driveway, house or any place else that will generally get you into bother with your partner. When I first started hunting I found myself using a pair of old trainers. Although very comfortable they got dirty very quickly. Having a bad back they also did not give me the support I needed for walking for long periods. I then invested in a pair of boots. They are great, worth every penny I spent on them, having spent a small fortune I was not going to keep them in the garage to get damp and for spiders to crawl in them. I ended up putting them in a bin bag every time I came back from a shoot. My sons boots would also go in the bin bag and generally, after about 3 weeks the bin bag would tear and deposit 3 weeks worth of mud onto the carpet. I toyed for a long time about getting a bag to put my boots in, I then finally took the plunge. I got myself a Deerhunter boot bag. As you can see from the pictures its big, in fact its big enough to easily house 2 pairs of adult Wellington boots. I use walking boots for shooting and you could easily fit 4 pairs of walking boots in the bag. In true Deerhunter style the boot bag itself is made of (Insert material here) in the (insert camo name here) colours. It’s a nice touch, and to be honest I personally would not have minded any sensible colour as I don’t take my boot bag any further than my car, but, as I have said, it’s a nice touch, and typically Deehunter. I mentioned earlier that you could fit a good amount of boots into the bag, its 17 litres in size so that will give you a better understanding of how this is achieved. The bag is made of their Oxford lining with a PVC coating and has hard bottom for your boots to rest on. The bottom is also removable so you can clean it. Removal of the bottom layer also enables you to collapse the bag for storage if needs be. There is also a large pocket inside to keep your socks in. Another nice touch is that Deerhunter have supplied plenty of ventilation holes across the entire product. I don’t have a problem with smelly feet, but, some of us are not so lucky, the ventilation holes also enable any moisture to evaporate and escape, nobody likes donning damp boots. Do I use it? Well yes I do. Gone are the days where the bin bag comes out every time I want to go shooting. The boot bag is used for shooting boots, my sons boots and my dog walking trainers with room for more if the need arises. Instead of an ugly black bin bag that rips every 3 weeks laying under the stairs, there is now a nice compact and good looking boot bag, which, I may add, is fully water proof. One thing is clear, I would not spend a fortune on something like this, you need to appreciate its just a means of storing and transporting shoes, but, in your shooting kitty, if you have a spare £15 and don’t know what to spend it on, get yourself one of these. webber
Hm. nice bag. I've used a welly boot bag for years, and it does what it says on the tin so to speak. I dropped on a brand new one at a car boot sale for £2, which was nice, so I donated the old one to my dad. Very handy for keeping the wellies in the car, and keeping the car clean. webber
