badgerman
in the shooting times a couple of weeks back a fella wrote in to tell of how he had become so fed up with the magpie population where he lived, that he had gone out and bought a larsen trap and ended up catching a load of them - thus aiding the local songbirds. well i was sat on my patio earlier and counted 12 magpies diggin around in the garden so i really do feel like something needs to be done. not being able to shoot them where i live, can anyone give some information on how it might work - if it would at all? what to do etc? Cranfield
If you live in a residential area and your garden is overlooked, then it would be difficult to trap them without your neighbours getting excited. Although a standard Larsen is a large trap, you can make smaller versions. Perhaps a silenced air rifle is the answer.
