Ferretboy111
Hello guys, Ive been trapping for some time now with fenn traps, i just bought 5 new mk4's, which takes my traps up to 10 fenns, trouble is they are bright metal. Usually i put my traps into the duck pond for a few weeks to dull them down alittle, was thinking if anyone had any ideas for quicker solutions? Want to get my traps out and underway as my poults have been in for 2 weeks or so now. I thought that maybe leaving them in a bowl of blood would work wonders on tainting them and getting them to rust>? Many thanks Alex
JohnGalway
I think fur trappers over in America use a dye on their traps. I bet NTTF will have more info on that.
Ferretboy111
I know some people who use gun blue on their snares, so could try that on my traps i suppose. Alex
henry d
Use oak bark boiled in water, then bung in the traps boil for an hour, then leave. Check every 24 hrs and remove when they`re coloured enough.
