Spaniel
On a very off chance as anyone got any Pigeon Decoying DVDs I could borrow. Im getting a little excited when Decoying ( So the Father in law says) so I want to watch some DVDs just to understand where i should be shooting the Woodies etc. Im just pricking a few to many at present Cheers
pin
Either behind them or too far out is my guess. Aim to have the centre of the pattern no more than 20-25yds from the hide and take them as they come in. Stick 1/4 choke in both barrels and aim to take them close in to start with, move the range out as you get better. Very different to clays as they can accelerate, stop and go back  Best guess would be taking them at range, it takes time and no small amount of skill to be able to knock down 40yd crossing birds. One thing I will say is even with a DVD it's hard to see the ranges people are taking birds at, and most people who make pigeon shooting DVD's are bloody good shots (thoebald/david otley/big george) so trying to emulate their shots probably isn't what you should be doing anyway
ferretmanabu
Might be worthing spending a little while in your hide without the gun out for a bit just to see how they come in. ONce you've seen a few you might understand better when to take them.
