Hi guys, I've just purchased a few boxes of HORNADY VARMINT EXPRESS, .22-250 REMINGTON, V-MAX, 55 GRAIN (8337) to try out. Just inputting data into StrelokPro now and its asking for relevant data. I've selected the chosen bullet but its contradicting the information provided on the Hornady datasheet. Could someone please enlighten me on the values to input for the said bullet?

Bullet length (mm):
Bullet diameter (mm):
Bullet weight (grains): 55gr
Ballistic coefficient?

Also what drag function is best to use? G1?

Cheers

Hi the bullet coefficient is 0.255     For the 55gr vmax

Bullet diameter .224      5.68mm

I probably would use G1

not sure what what you mean by Length is that cartridge overall lenght or bullet Head length ?

Thank you for your reply, I believe length to be the bullet head length it’s self.
The suggested bullet length from the app is 20.60mm.

Do you use strelokPro yourself?

No i use iStrelok but not the pro version. The version I have doesn’t ask for bullet length

I’ve just  measured a 55gr vmax @ 20.76 The bullet length will vary because of the plastic tip and manufacturing

and you probably will need to take the coefficient with a pinch of salt as well because a lot of manufacturers tend to stretch the truth a bit but it’s a good place to start
