wildfowler.250
Looking for some advice folks. Been years since I’ve done a Larsen trap and it was always for crows. Moved further south and now I’ve got magpies to contend with as well. There’s a decent local (not shot at) grey partridge population and I’m keen to give the trap a go. So far I’ve gone onto nature scot and got a registration number. I put this on a tag on the trap? Is there a difference between trapping magpies and crows in as much as, will one attract the other? Or does a crow call bird tend to only attract crows and converse for magpies? If anyone could recommend somewhere that does a decent (legal) trap that would be appreciated? Otherwise the general husbandry side of things I’m fairly happy with it. Cheers!
Eddie B
A crow decoy, tend to only attract crows. A magpie decoy can attract both crows and magpies. I hear that those clam traps are good for catching a decoy. I've seen videos on YouTube of homemade ones, made from two shopping baskets, that worked.
