Freelander and BMW diesel owners

This year so far I have changed 3 turbos :good: 2 of them were on Freelander diesels and the other one on a BMW. BTW they share the same unit.

BMW have now changed their servicing to include the replacement of the breather on every oil service while Land Rover ( up to speed as usual :good: ) recommend it less frequently.

If you consider the fact that a new turbo unit, flushing of the intercooler and pipes, synthetic oil and filter change etc. will cost you a minimum of a £1000, I think the relative small cost of changing the breather is more than worth it.

The cost of an engine replacement if yours takes off on fumes will be £5000 +

Right thats my good deed for the day, now I can be naughty
