lurcherboy
This year so far I have changed 3 turbos 2 of them were on Freelander diesels and the other one on a BMW. BTW they share the same unit. BMW have now changed their servicing to include the replacement of the breather on every oil service while Land Rover ( up to speed as usual ) recommend it less frequently. If you consider the fact that a new turbo unit, flushing of the intercooler and pipes, synthetic oil and filter change etc. will cost you a minimum of a £1000, I think the relative small cost of changing the breather is more than worth it. The cost of an engine replacement if yours takes off on fumes will be £5000 + Right thats my good deed for the day, now I can be naughty LB
Glenshooter
The Turbo went on my colleague's R reg Audi A4 and it cost her £2,200 to get it fixed last week. Doubt it was worth it.
