Lord Geordie
Hiya Peeps! Well all i can say is WOW!!!!!! Been here in Oz for just over a week now and I have to say this place rocks. There is so much to try and take in and my head is almost ready to explode with the overload. I am staying in NSW in a small place called Moss Vale with my Fiancee and we took the forst week in a place called Tuross Head as She booked a challet overlooking the bay and a 2 min walk to the beach which I have to say is a damn sight more inviting than that of whitley bay at home lol. Seals Dolphins Whales Puffer fish it's fantastic watching them all in the crystal clear waters although the jelly fish are a tad of a worry as the last day there was a bad one there was a easterly wind and blew in a lot of men of war type jelly fish onto the beaches but we still had a good time there. The Birds are something to see also between the cockatoos and the ghallas and we even had the rainbow lorikeets feeding from our hands they fly onto your wrist and take the seed from your hands. Even the lad was having a good time feeding them. The food is fantastic and nearly everything in the supermarkets is home grown or produced which feels good knowing your money is going back in to the aussie economy! The weather has been real good to us too and only one day of rain which wasn't even a shower so can't moan. I have a LOAD of pics to put up when i return and the insect life here is interesting also and there is a Tarantula like spider on the back window which i am trying to get a pic of but when i try to move the shutter it ******* off. I have been to quite a few places since i have been here and am away to Canberra tomorrow. Home on Tuesday to old blighty but it's been a trip of a lifetime and been a good trip as we have been planning our marriage and hope to tie the knot next year over here in Oz so thats something I am really looking forward too. Bit of a ****** as I was supposed to meet a guy called Speedy off another forum over here but never got a reply to a PM I sent before I left but As i am returning next year perhaps I can meet up then?? Anyway I am gonna shoot off now and get my Tea as it's tapping on here and I will post when I get home! See you guys later! LG

WeihrauchPower
You've finally made it over then! The weathers a bit better up where you are compared to down here. Although don't you have some big storms heading your way?
Lord Geordie
You've finally made it over then! The weathers a bit better up where you are compared to down here. Although don't you have some big storms heading your way? Yeah! Had the storms (not bad just a bit of thunder and a smidge of rain) but the rest of the weather was fantastic as was the country in general though I got a few funny looks from Ozzi folk when they twigged I was english after the match! I have to say I don't follow sport as a rule but my Fiancee's youngest son was threatening me the morning after the England Win I was there to see My Fiancee notcheer on the home side and to be honest I don't follow football either so it don't bother me WHO wins in MY eyes it's the team who plays best on the day and thats that good luck to ANY team who wins in my opinion wether they be foreign or home teams! Had a fantastic time out there though NOW I am back in Blighty and cold as hell again. Pics will be on their way tomorrow as all I wanna do now is sleep as i have not long got home and i have some nasty jet lag. Managed to get in touch with Speedy though it was a tad too late to do anything but I am going back out next year to get Married and will be there 5 weeks then so perhaps I will catch him then and get a spot of fishing in too eh? Anyway will post pics tomorrow and am off to catch some sleep now! ATVB LG

Lord Geordie
Some piccies as promised First is a piccy of My Son Chris feeding rainbow lorikeets from his hand. This was great and only took 3 day to get the lorikeets to fly to your hand and feed. At first they would only wait on the hand rail to be fed but with a few hours a day eventually they built up enough trust to fly onto our hands to feed. It was magic watching them eating and seeing the smile on Chris's face! Second Photo is a picture from a view point at a park my Future Wife took me to. The view is awe inspiring and takes your breath away it's a pity the piccs don't give you the same feeling. Third is a Pic of a Fire Chopper that flew over us while we were at the park and was on his way to drop a load of water on a bush fire. The Forth is a piccy of my Fiancee feeding a pair of rainbow lorikeets she LIVES in Oz and was totally amazed when we got the birds to take food from our hands! Fifth was a Moth i found outside the challet and decided i wanted a pic of it! Sixth is a picy of a lizard that was basking on our lawn for the week at Tuross Head Seventh is a piccy of Chris Hadyden Ryan and myself at a Garden centre in the mini rain forest they have Number Eight is a piccy of a Spider I found at the same Garden Centre Lastly here is a Pair of Rainbow Lorikeets that became part of the family before we left! They were a right piece of work and were pecking on the window to be fed first thing in the morning  Enjoy LG
Suffolk shooter
I know you said Mossvale, NSW, but where is that as I couldn't find it on Google earth. My dad lives at Bonnells Bay on Lake MacQuarie, Central coast, NSW. My sister lives in Gosford, NSW and my Aunt lives in Concord, Sydney, NSW. Those lorikeets are great fun to watch and feed, apart from the dawn chorus when you have 100-200 of them screeching around outside the window. That pic of the view looks like that was up in the blue mountains area or was it (excuse spelling) Korangai national park? I agree some spectacular views and photos never seem to do them justice. The red of the rock is really enhanced at night as the sun sets. I couldn't help but laugh at the pic of the Helicopter, having been out there with Bush fires all around, you soon realise that what each of those copters carries is like P****** in hell, it ain't gonna work. Lord Geordie
Moss Vale not mossvale It's about 7k south of Bowral I know what you mean about the amount of water those things carry i probably get more in my bath lol. The whole Holiday was a huge assault on the senses smell sight and hearing! I never left NSW in the holiday but even what was there was simply too much to take in in 2 weeks it's going to take a long time to get used to it. I have another 5 weeks next March - April but again will most likely get overwhelmed again but man what a place to be! I am looking at a retirement plan where I go to live in OZ when i retire as till then the future Mrs wants to come to the UK as she has no family out there and is already treat like a daughter by my Mum n Dad so she is looking forward to coming over here. We will be looking to move to the Scotish borders with any luck within about 4 years depending on what the house here is worth and what savings we can put aside! As I say in the future I would like to retire in Oz but will have to talk it all through with Rach first! ATVB LG
WeihrauchPower
Some great pics mate! I went to a place called Halls Gap a few weeks ago, it looks similar to the second pic so i know how rubbish the pics seem in comparison to being there. Those rainbow lorikeets look great. When i frist arrived one of the things i noticed most was how colourful all the wildlife is. I fed some Kookaburras at the girlfriends parents house, they wouldn't go onto your hand though. Glad to hear you and your family really enjoyed yourself!
