30-6
Many years ago I bought from Aldi a camera tripod and have never used it, I think it was £12 or thereabouts. The threads are whitworth ( standard for camera I believe ). I bought some thread adapters from e-bay and also had a good friend to make some BSF to Whitworth thread adapters so I could use fishing rod rests heads of various designs. A little bit of thought and stuff from the shed and I have a great new tripod. It can swivel, tilt, cant and is height adjustable. It also very light to carry. My normal tripod an old basic one is set for standing, so this one will be set on low, so no faffing about changing heights.
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
I used a tripod as well, managed to find some Y & U rests with a camera thread then discovered cheap rod rests in my local tackle shop, pulled the Y off the stick (not threaded) & I guessed correctly I could thread it onto the camera thread, a much cheaper solution.
