Just wandered what the shooting is like near my new home hi mate, you aint got a chance in west mids mate, you will be lucky to get a air rifle on fac, but i suppose if you can find a few thousand achre in wolves you may have 1/10 chance..id try your shotty 1st then after a few year try fac...ive spoke to people that have had shottys over 10 year and still cant get fac.. i suppose you could try and get it for fox control..id try getting your airgun on fac or shotty 1st then when you prove your self then apply for fac...west midlands is verry harsh at the momment on rimmy or centre but im hearing there being ok with shottys and airgun fac..you need to ask for some advice off members in west mids "if you can find any one! but i can bet it will take you a good few years before you get granted i tell you..ive reacently met some one whos had shottys for over 20 year and still been refused..im not trying to have a dig just letting you know what i know..me and the people i mention are under your fac licencing, west mids..the only other way i wreckon you could get fac but you wont get it for land is a club and thatl take 2 year..hope ive helped and sorry if ive knocked your drive but just letting you know what i know..good luck ps you could still try regardless like i have lol but dont get your hopes up as i got refused on airgun fac a few times and i got a decent amount of land at my mates pss you dont need land verrified for shottys and i know theres people with shottys near you

cleaner4hire
sounds a bit ominous ! non the less im still gonna go ahead with the FAC. Ive gotten rid of my air-rifles recently so dont really fancy going back down that route. Ive just (today) aquired some permission up this way thats already cleared upto .223 (im a lucky monkey!) so ill just have to play the waiting game... i gather that WV postcodes fall under west mids FEO. If so ive had good reports about him, just that (as with most FAC applications atm) they take a while to issue Once im sorted (hopefully) id love to take you up on that Griff - i havent done any clay shooting.... yet and hopefully i'll be able to return the favour at some point - or a few cheeky beers! Griff36
QUOTE: I gather that WV postcodes fall under west mids FEO. No not all WV postcodes fall under west mids, my mate has a WV10 postcode and has just got his SGC under South Staffs. I've just looked on UK Street Map and Cosford is classed as Shropshire. I normally go clay shooting at the weekend either Saturday or Sunday or sometimes both (if the wife allows), don't worry about being a newbie, I will gladly meet you at a quiet practice ground ie Millride J1 M54 (5 miles away) and you can have a go, if its not for you then don't worry. Nothing ventured Nothing gained, as they say!

Its still up for sale, gone down hill over the past 12 months, rabbit and crosser never work and you get plenty of no birds. I only use it as it is cheap and its the only local shoot open 7 days a week.

sodit
Yes Millrise seems a little past its best. I only shoot skeet and the two traps set up as high skeet when I go there. It seems a little to much bother for all the other traps just for me. I reckon it could be really good with a little TLC and money input.
