mr lee
Posted friday to me, delivered today! WOOHOO! I asked for shotgun - approved .22lr with moderator - approved .17hmr with moderator - approved .308 - approved. So today I am one happy bunny! Oh hang on, bunny may not be the best word to use in here eh? From Application through to recieving the licences has taken roughly 8 - 9 weeks. West Yorkshire police. I was initially worried about getting a conviction for drunk and disorderly a few years back but that wasn't an issue fortunately. The licence says I can shoot over land approved by the local force and landowner. Now when i applied I wanted the .17hmr for fox and rabbit control on a farm. I put the letter from the farmer in with the application but it doesn't physically state the farms name on the licence. Just the above. When the FAO came round to visit me he said everything was fine with the land. So does this mean I am okay to shoot there now? Or should it say the farms name on my paperwork? Right, next step, rifle shopping.
sandersj89
You are good to go on the farm, they will have checked it for you and you have permission. Now all you have to do is buy the rifles! Jerry

mr_colt
"The licence says I can shoot over land approved by the local force and landowner." - If it says that then thats what you can do. as long as its been police approved and you have landowner permission then off you go. Therefore if you picked up another land permission somewhere else; as long as its been police approved for the calibres in question then you can shoot there too. Have fun and Shoot safely. Best Regards, mr_colt.
