Cartridge load weight conversions

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong. I am moving on from the old money system in my life and thought I would post these. If this is ok could it be pinned?

 

1 oz- 28g

 

1 1/16 oz-30g

 

1 1/8 oz-32g

 

1 1/4 oz- 35g

 

1 3/8 oz-38g

 

1 9/16 oz-42g

 

1 3/4 oz-50g

 

2 oz- 56g

 

2 1/4 oz-63g

I agree, but most 24g cartridges are listed as 7/8 oz, which is a lot easier to say than 27/32nds of an ounce. Which is what 24g is.

 

Just like a .38 Special bullet isn't .38" in diameter.

 

 

Don't you just love gunspeak?

 

 

As the gauge gets smaller and the shot column gets longer, (taller), these 'small' amounts matter. Pressure!

Example: I have the 20 gauge loading tables for a leading manufacturer here in front of me:

 

Extract:

 

20 gauge 21 gram - 3/4 oz

20 gauge 24 gram

20 gauge 25 gram - 7/8 oz
