stevoman
well folks. its my first post so hello to everyone. im from ireland, 26 years old and do i just cant get enough of hunting. i bought a lovely 5 month old lewellen setter at the weekend and she comes from excellent working strain. i was wondering has anyone ever had any of these dogs and if so can they give me any tips for training and what to expect with a dog of this breed. As any of you dog men out there know the lewellen is very similar to the english setter. i am going to start her training as soon as i can and i will need all the help and advice i can get. thanks a million lads. happy hunting
new to the flock
Welcome to the forum. I have worked several Llewellin Setters over the years, having just lost my last one a year ago. As with all pointers go slow and steady with her. Remember with pointers if you use a cross word, or a rough hand you will blow a weeks training. They take corrections very personnal. Get started on her obediance work now before she forums too many bad habits. Let us know if we can be of any help. NTTF

new to the flock
There is an obediance program pinned at the top of this section. Read through it 2 or 3 times and if you have any questions ask away. NTTF
