njc110381
I think I've found a good deal on a rifle. It's a Tikka T3 Laminate Stainless, screwcut and new with mounts for £675. How does this price sound? The next cheapest I can find is £680, and that's not been screwcut. I'm viewing it tomorrow if I have time, and if I like it I think I'll hold it for when the cert arrives. I'm fairly set on this type of rifle now after going through the good and bad points of both wood and synthetic stocks and blue/stainless barrels. This seems to have all the good points and few bad ones. Laminate is slightly heavy, but is better than standard wood in bad weather. It is also fairly rigid, so no bendy fore ends touching barrels! Stainless isn't that much more expensive, so I may aswell have that too. The gun looks nice (unlike synthetic) which is a bonus. In time it will be fitted with a Predator 8 mod, but I haven't got the cash for all the extras yet

It's the re-crowning, I am told, that is the difficult bit. I keep hearing that Tikka/Sako are going to factory cut them soon, but they do not seem to be in the shops yet. ft
njc110381
Well I took a real liking to this gun when I handled it. The heavier stock really helps the feel of the gun when a mod is fitted and it looks great! I paid a deposit on it so it's held for me when my FAC arrives. Another really good thing is that the guy I'm buying it from (UK Custom Shop, the maker of the Predator mods) works from home and can be in for me to collect the gun at any time. Now all I need is the certificate EDIT......I've also been told that he has the contract to screwcut all the rifles for GMK in the UK, so I'm expecting it to be a first class job
