TSS/Bismuth Subsonic 12g

Recommended Posts

So after reading the guidance on numerous threads on here, most notably from Geoff Cookoff's, I tried Titewad powder and it has made all the difference, but only with plastic wads.  I cannot get fibre wad and nitro card loads to show consistency?

I have worked up a good TSS 1oz load. LBC 43 wad with Titewad 14.5 grains. It's interesting that its right on the border of the 1050 fps but also right on the border of not cycling through my Remington semi with the ATEC moderator. Any lower powder charge and it won't. The fibre wads begin non-cycling at higher powder weights.

Possibly I have a dodgy batch of nitro cards but they feel snug enough fit. So, Im wondering how I can get the 1 1/8 bismuth loads pressure up without resorting to plastic wads or gas seals?

Is Cookoff still on here?

Disclaimer: I haven't had these loads tested. I load at my own risk. You load at your own risk. I'm not responsible for your load data.

Yes mate, 1 1/8 or 1 1/16 and the balance made up with buffer to try and up the pressure.

You need more pressure to cycle the action. Adding more powder will increase the pressure, but also the velocity.

The obvious alternative now is to increase your payload. Try 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 ounces of fibre bismuth and see if that solves the issue.
