A number of those posts came up for sale after they were decommissioned once the powers that be decided that Cold War tensions had lessened and ROC stood down in '95 but others became the haunts of local roofs and vandalised. Bit of a liability if discovered on your land once 'discovered' and the hatch padlocks were forced which is why some ladders were removed and entrance shafts filled in.
