zero distance for nv scope

Depends on the height of the cross wires above the centre of the bore. My SD/N6 is 3.5" above the bore, so I zero it at 85 yds. and it's far zero is 250 yds. Generally speaking the higher above the bore the scope is, the further your near zero wants to be, for example if you zeroed at 25 yds., the bullet would have to climb 3.5" in 25yds, not a very useful trajectory. My rifle is a 22/250 so you need a ballistics table, or a bit of trial and error to get the most usefull trajectory for your calibre and expected range.
