Neil...

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember the Viscount was the forerunner of the sidelever Tracker and used many of the same parts.

The guns put out about 10.5 ftlbs but can be tuned to increase this to the 12ftlb limit but I seem to remember that many of the Tracker and Viscount models turned up damaged at Gunshops in the late 80,s where they had been fitted with too strong mainsprings trying to increase the power output beyond this. The guns were very lightweight.

I know that parts for the Tracker and Viscount are still available through www.chambersgunmakers.co.uk. If you visit their site you can view the parts plans and lists.

I had one of the first Trackers back in the mid 80,s and it was tuned to just over 12ftlb. You have to be careful though because they were built as lightweight rifles and much above this can easily be damaged.

The Tracker was a fine gun and very accurate I used mine for rabbit shooting and shot literally 100,s of bunnies with it. I would imagine the Viscount would offer the same performance and accuracy in the feild. One thing I seem to recall is the possibility of air leakage through the loading tap seal and I remember replacing this on more than one occasion.

Hope this helps.

FM.
