Peter_HMR Posted January 12, 2008 Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 Going to pick up my 581 in a few days getting it threaded just a couple of questions Whats the ideal barrel length im thinking 16" but im not cutting off the front sight if i done have to. Also what mod i know SAK are really good but would prefer a parkhale but wont put one on if its not up to the job. 08shooter Posted January 12, 2008 Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 pete the rifle is fine with standard barrel,i use a parker hale and its fine. superb in the accuracy stakes.if i were you id leave it well alone. its took you quite a while to get it.i thought they were slow up here.spare mags are hard come across and i think they are now discontinued. all the best. Peter_HMR Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 yeah about a year i kinda just left it in the dealers for a while and decided to get rid of the .17hmr the super down here isnt the most gun friendly.
