I ordered a Nightforce from Litt's on 18th August.

On New Years Eve I emailed them as below.....

 

Andrew,

 

On Saturday 18th August I ordered an 8-32x56 Nightforce NXS scope from you (NP-R2 reticle).

 

You told me on the phone that you would probably have it in two weeks, but three weeks maximum.

I paid the agreed price of £1010 via credit card.

 

After about 2 ½ weeks I phoned to find out when I could expect delivery. I was told “we are expecting them in anytime nowâ€.

I phoned again a week later. Same story.

 

After over a month had elapsed, I phoned you and requested that you refund my money, which you did via cheque. I emphasised the fact that I still wanted the scope and would pay for it immediately once you had it in stock.

 

Since then, I have phoned your premises several times. More often than not, I get the “I will look into it and call you back†excuse. This usually means I will hear nothing until the next time I phone you.

 

A few times I have had the “The US Marines have placed a big order with Nightforce and no-one else is getting supplied†excuse.

 

Once I got told “They will be clearing Customs at Heathrow on Mondayâ€. What month or year the Monday is in, they never said.

 

I have even been told “Yes, we have received it†(although for some reason nobody phoned to let me know). Then it turns out it is the wrong one. At this point I was told we will get one Fed-Ex from the States. It will take 10 days maximum.

 

My latest phone call a couple of weeks ago was met with the old “we will call you back†excuse. Needless to say, no-one ever did.

 

As you have probably gathered, I am rather annoyed about this. OK, you quoted the cheapest price. I told you I didn’t mind waiting a few weeks, not 4 ½ months. Irrespective of whatever problems you have supposedly had sourcing the scope, you could at least have the decency to keep me informed of progress, or the lack of it. Doesn’t an order for over a £1000 qualify for customer service?

 

Can you please tell me what is going on?

 

Unless I receive a satisfactory response to this email, I shall be forwarding details of this fiasco to the shooting magazines and internet forums so that other potential Litt’s customers will know what to expect.

 

They did try to phone me the same day, but I had gone out. They emailed and said that the scopes were in UK Customs and they would hopefully have them by the end of the week. On 3rd January I emailed and asked if they had any news yet. The reply was "Sorry, still in Customs, maybe tomorrow".

 

9 days later, I have heard nothing from them. I have just cancelled my order. :lol:
