Oly
Just wondering if anyone knows the rifle range at Baldwins Gate/Hill Chorlton area in Staffordshire? http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|bald...lton,%20CW2%205 If so what facilities are there, which clubs use it & when? peck
hello Olly, i used to be a regular visitor to Baldwins Bate ranges. they only cater for small bore rifle shooting, 25 yards, 50 meters and 100 yard ranges. the club is used by amongst others Market Drayton small bore rifle club, City of Birmingham rifle club. there is usualy someone there most sundays. Oly
Excellent info. Many thanks Peck Do you shoot with the M' Drayton club by any chance?
peck
yes, i have shot with them for the last 20 years but i am now giving up target shooting ( rifle and all shooting accessories for sale) but i am hanging onto my 22 sporter and 17hmr. they are a very friendly bunch at MDRC, they will welcome you and let you have a shot with a club gun, if you decide you would like to continue target shooting you will have to do a probationary period before you will be allowed to apply for your own target rifle. apart from precision small bore shooting they also have a team in the sporting league, (that is a team of 4), using your own sporting rifle to shoot a target that is then sent off for by post for scoring by the league scorer, the scores are then collated and results posted back to the club secratary. Oly
Thanks Peck. I already shoot smallbore & fullbore and was a member of Kendal Rifle Club in Cumbria for several years before moving back down to the area, so now it's just a case of finding a friendly local shoot really. I shoot prone and sporting, but I don't shoot competitively...my own competition is competition enough and to be honest I find the deadlines a pain (I get enough of them at work!), and also people think I'm odd as I don't shoot with all the gear (sling, glove etc)...I simply don't find it demanding enough! Thanks for the info, Oly
