russuk
you can hold a shotgun cert from the age of 6 yearsand don't need a cabinet to get it. advice from w y police When I was granted my cert from GMP my cabinet was not in place, as I wanted the FLO's advice on where to put it. My cert came days after my interview with a letter stating I must not hold any guns on my premises until I have my security in place. A few days later I installed the cabinet and the FLO came to check it out. GMP are almost too efficient!
taz24
you can hold a shotgun cert from the age of 6 yearsand don't need a cabinet to get it. advice from w y police I had my gun safe made for me and although it is made to the correct standards I was still a bit nervous that the FLO would object to it. The opposit was the case he said that it was one of the best safes he had ever seen. Result!!! . Start to finish the application only took 5 weeks and 2 of those were over christmas. taz. jayward
Different forces use different interpretations of the home office guidance, generally there the rules as the head firearms officer sees them and thats that ... Im not saying thats a bad thing as tbh there not the most clear set of legal documents ive read and theres plenty of lets say gray areas but thats often the case with the law ... I have found that often the 1st point of contact would not be FEO and i would suggest you ask to talk directly to one if your not happy with the original advise
