webber
An early start to Saturday was delayed due to heavy rain. I therefore went to work in the morning, and only half heartedly put the gear in the car and went to collect my mate. When we arrived at the large field of barley, we had to carry the equipment about half a mile, as we did the field lifted with pigeon. We built a hide and set up a pigeon rotor and 20 flock coated shells. It was a quiet start at first as we sat down ready to shoot at 2.30, but the pigeon just kept coming. At 6.30 we had 50 odd, and were talking about going home. We counted the remaining cartridges and decided to either shoot up or pack up at 7.00. The final count was 66 pigeon, 1 magpie, one rook. 133 cartridges fired, 7 cartridges remaining at 7.00. We drove away at 8.10, absoluteley knackered, but extremeley happy. We could have shot far more had our marksmanship been better or had we stayed an extra half hour, but we'll be back! De-breasted the lot on Sunday evening, 4. !/2 hours, and another radox bath. Two baths in one week; Mrs. webber will be thinking that Ive found someone new! Sorry no photos, just too knacked to be bothered. webber

webber
It was a fabulous day, knackering, but fabulous. I keep preaching to my staff a little ryme that was drummed into me as an apprentice. Propper Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance. Had I planned it propperly, I would have worn my waterproof pants, as I got soaked walking therough the wet barley, and I would have taken the Beretta semi auto. Im planning another trip this weekend, and will try to remember the camera. webber
