ironhorse
I have just seen on the television the announcement from Shell there profits for end of year are 13.4 billion. I find this total outrageous. We are told that the price of oil has increased and pump prices must follow, Shell will not get any business from me in the future. Mungler
Yes, indeed, me thinks that the price of petrol is not entirely made up of tax as some would have us believe. Maybe their shops do *really* well and the profit is based on flogging sweets, ciggies, stale flowers, air fresheners and the odd porn mag. Wookie
Given the price of their cigarettes, sandwiches and sweet, I can well believe it.

sidibear
It did also state in the news report that 65 - 70p is comprised of tax. First time I have heard them admit it.
ironhorse
Petrol is cheaper in a lot of other countries because there Governments don’t use it as a form of ransom
