millo2
Certainly answered my own question there I understand but let me go into some detail. Me and my brother went out last night with my air rifle to zero it in as I knocked the scope. After about an hours shooting at targets, we decided to have a walk round the farm to see if there were any pigeons, rabbits, crows etc. We were walking along side the beck and saw a litter of big fox cubs about 80-90 yards away. We crossed the beck and stood inbetween the hedge and the fence that bordered the field. We had both been trying out our new net realtree max 4 3-D suits and I decided to try and call these foxes in. (By this point my brother had ran to the farm house and got the .22 rifle out). I squeaked the first cub in to about 30 yards and my brother dropped it. The second came to about 10 yards away then i lost it in the scope as it was too close. This is the part you will not believe. The cub came up, stuck its head through the fence and touched its nose on my wellie. Once it realised what I was it was off and I manmaged to shoot it about 35 yards away. I then got the third cub at about 50 yards whilst the fixen was barking up on the fell. A brilliants night. I only wish I had a video camera, that would have been great advertising for realtree

Fisherman Mike
Its Ok as long as you keep still, Like everything else. I used to go decoying in my younger days when I was skint. Wearing a bright Yellow Nylon Kagoul with a **** hide made of Hessian sprayed with car paint. I tell you something... I used to shoot a good deal more birds than I do now. FM. The Big Red Fox
I agree with Fisherman Mike the main thing is to keep still, when pigeon shooting a good idea is to wear gloves and a facemask because as you rise to take your shot these birds notice the movement and then see your big hands or face if they are not covered........... Millo have you seen the warener videos in one of these a fox comes in and bites him on the wellie, I have to say that I'm a bit skeptical about it but have been told by people who know this guy that the video is how it happened........... I have also had the experience of fox cubs in so far that they are too big for the scope, the best way to avoid this I find is to wait till you are getting a good safe shot and then bark at them or shout stop at them and that will give you the time needed to squeeze the trigger as you have been following them in......in may occassions fully grown foxes can need stopped too. They just seem to get excited at certain times of the year and will come in like trains other times you can spend 20 minutes with the ******* and not get a shot.
