Italian O/U game/pigeon gun

Recommended Posts

Hi for sale one of my shotguns, I think one of the others will be up soon too to buy a trap gun.

This is a ROTA Sarezzo, the same gun has been branded navy arms, arambietta and even gamba before, but I understand Rota are the original makers (bit like my browning is really made by fabrique nationale).

It is a game gun really, double trigger, non ejector, chokes 1/2 and tight 3/4 or loose full, scroll engraved action on satin silver finish, engraved trigger guard and lever too, not a bad looking gun to be honest. Straight handed (english) stock, and gold triggers.

28" barrels, and about 15-16" Length of pull, I'm 6ft1 and it fits me like a glove, but also fits friend who is about 5ft 9 ish I also shoot with the browning which is much shorter and can hit well with either.

Now the nice bit! 3" chambers!!! And I believe it is proofed to steel pressures, but there is no fleur de lys so if you do use steel there is a chance (small one though) that the barrels will become scored over a lot of shots. Personally I probably would, it isn't an expensive gun and at a saving of £20+ per thousand it soon pays for the gun. But this is the ideal field/pigeon gun and indeed it accounted for a few this weekend.

The gun is almost worth describing as vgc/mint, you can almost believe it is new, it does have a couple of tiny marks on the outside of the barrel (insides like new) but they are too small to photo. Not pitting tiny and I mean tiny scratches, you probably wouldn't see them. And there are about 2 tiny marks on stock, it is a lot better than 99% of the guns out there.

It comes with a wooden box as pictured, not mint by a long stretch, but makes a nice looking package, basically it's all ready to go and enjoy. I can't think what else to say really, but a very good condition italian gun, with 3" chambers, Vickers steel barrels, very strong top bar lock as used on beretta/gamba etc, pretty nice wood, all for the price of a baikal?

I'd like £225 ono which I don't think is silly. can be collected from east/north yorks or next weekend I will be coming down to near Kettering and will happily meet.

I really can't believe this has had no nibbles? Just to reiterate, condition excellent, reliability seems excellent, looks lovely, comes with a box, 3" chambers, very strong gun, ideal pigeon/field worker.

But lack of interest usually means it's too much money so £175 ONO. And that means I'm prepared to take offers chaps.

I will consider swaps, a silenced 410, 9mm/.22 shotshell, or an old semi of similar price, I would love a winchester 1400. I will also consider a trap gun plus money on my side, but I'm looking in the hundreds region not the thousands.
