Cranfield Posted March 9, 2008 Report Share Posted March 9, 2008 It seems that various model of rotary decoyers spin at different speeds, somewhere between 30 and 40 rpm. Also, the battery quality affects the speed, as does the weight of the decoys, the length of the arms and adverse wind conditions. Some people buy speed controllers to speed up their rotary, or just to vary the speed of their rotary to create a different look to the layout and some buy it to slow the rotary down to get more life out of the battery. It really depends what you want it for. Apparently hypaflaps work well on rotarys and as they don't weigh much, your rotary will go faster.
