first time with a shot gun

Hi,

My dad has just got his bonus and said he wanted to treat me and my sister, for me, he said he would take me clay pigeon shooting for the first time. as it happens, my grandparents wanted to come down this weekend so my grandad came aswell, so, three generations, me and my grandfather have never so much as touched a shotgun, I have got a few air rifles and he was an RAF marksman but my dad has done a few corperrate days.

We did a 'novice lesson' this was 25 clays and carts with an instructor. I went first and took my first 6 shots, hit them all  , anyway, to cut a long story short, My grandfather didnt get on with it and after using 17 cartridges and only hitting one or two, decided that it was not for him. My dad missed 7 of his 25 and I missed 6 out of my 33 (i had my grandads spare carts.) I was VERY chuffed, I dont really know what is concidered as good for a first timmer but the instructor was very possitive and said that I should go back (when he is there) so that he could try me on other types of tragectiles etc.

SO, Well chuffed, im sure you guys can do allot better but im made up! and it was great to have the three generations together!

Great little setup for newcomers up there!

If you do continue with it there are quite a fer herts shooters on here, I can point you in the direction of a few good shoots to get you going.
