CZ452 trigger issue...

I have a CZ452 which has a slight issue with the trigger. ???

When I pull the bolt to load a round in it will do so normally. However, unless I ever so slightly touch the trigger whilst the bolt is back/open it won't then fire that loaded round. When you touch the trigger it clicks forward about 3mm. If you do this every time you pull back the bolt to load the next one it will fire as normal. If you don't touch the trigger it will not fire. It feels almost like the safety is on. No movement on the trigger at all.

I have a trigger kit on order for it at present which I should have monday/tuesday. However, just thought it worth asking here to see if anybody else had had this same issue before or knew of an easy cure for it. I have lifted the barrel and action out of the stock but can't see any noticeable wear or damage. Nothing looks bent or edges peened over either so i'm a bit stumped with it.

Thoughts?

2nd question - We are about to start lambing in about a fortnight up at the permission we have and we have been asked to go up to rid the farm of the 2 foxes we know of. One is called in easily (tried it last week on the wam squeeker to try it out) but very lamp shy and amazing quick to take flight if it thinks anything is untowards whereas the 2nd fox will only stay out at about 300 yards. For the first one I reckon we could get him to come into about 30 yards without too much hassle as he has already had 2 new born lambs. is it okay to take him out with a shotgun and if so what size round would be the right one? 12 gauge Shotgun by the way. I have a slot for a .308 on the licence but thought that would be a bit OTT for such a short range and if I am honest the far out fox is not something I would be confident to take a shot at just yet with the .308. Shooting mate has just put in for a .222 variation but as yet it hasn't come back.

We have a brilliant relationship with the farmer too as they allow us to sleep over in the van and shoot at any time of the day or night with air/rimmie or the shotgun to get rabbits or better still the foxes. We normally put the camp beds up in the van and take a mini cooker and some firewood for burning in the barrel. Go out have a good shooting session then lock the rifles away for the remainder of said evening and crack open a few beers and chill out. next morning is an early rise and out on the morning bunnies. Due to them being so good with us we are really keen to help them get shut of these 2 foxes asap before they lose any of the lambs which are due in a fortnights time.

So what do you guys suggest?

Mark, I think if the stamp on the barrel is anything to go by then it is a 94. However, the condition of it looks like a 6 month old one. I have only had it a few weeks so unsure if the previous owner ever stripped it, I know I haven't as yet.

sounds like there could be some fouling( muck) in the firing pin housing.

its not hard to strip and clean, but its like a chinese puzzle to put back.

slide the bolt out, give it a good squirt of wd inside of the bolt.

( if you look under the bottom side of the bolt you may be able to see the spring)

give it a good soak , put it back and see if it gets better , before you strip it down.

I have only had it a few weeks

back to the shop with it if i was you.

Bought from a private buyer sadly.

I have cleaned the bolt out thouroughly and it is showing no signs of any wear as such either.

As for the trigger, if this current one is goosed I am tempted to fit a jackson one from rimfire magic. (i think it's them anyway...)

could be just a badly adjusted trigger job.
