_Spud_
Hey all, I have just purchased another shotgun (getting addictive now) and I went for the escort Luxano combo. It is a bloody superb gun, it’s a limited edition comes with a 26†barrel and a 28†barrel multi chokes etc. The gun was £375 brand new, anyone who is considering a semi auto should really consider this gun, it is absolutely superb, on the day I purchased it I put well over 200 carts and it worked perfect using Hull Comp X. SirMorris
Hello Spud, This is the gun i am thinking of buying, my gun dealer said it comes with two barrels. I held it and it felt nice and solid.... I hate the E S C O R T engravede on the fore-end though.... I am torn between that one and the Baikal MP-153 for an extra 150. I cannot consider the other italian makes for they are way out of budget and their second hands are still more expensive that a baikal!! IMHO, i'd rather have a new fiat than a second hand mercedes my father taught me so! please keep me posted if any problems with the escort cheers
CEREALTHRILLER
Have you looked on the Guntrader website? Just search through the semi auto's on sale within your budget. You may find a bargain
wildoliver
Don't take this the wrong way sirmorris, but your attitude is wrong. In cars, guns and really any other mechanical object buying quality used items is far better value for money short and long term than new cheap items. Ten years from now there will be very few escorts/webley 810s for sale unless they have had light use, the reason being they just aren't made as well as beretta/franchi/browning/winchester even the baikal. You regularly see old berettas that have had tens of thousands of rounds through them, with little if any breakdowns in their history, the reason being they are made from good quality materials but also are a good design that takes wear in to account, the turkish guns (and I speak as someone who has had a good look inside some) are fine for now, but the steel is low quality, the hardening is not very thick and wears through quickly allowing wear to accelerate, and because of this they won't last forever, nor will they hold their value. They will drop less money than a new quality semi, in fact they can be bought for less than a new quality semi will lose! However you can buy a decent used semi for the same price as a new hatsan and it will be arguably the better gun long term. I'm afraid the same applies with cars. Buying new regularly just keeps the dealers rich.
SirMorris
Hi Wildoliver, I understand where you are coming from and dont disagree with you. However, in my case, I would get a cheap new gun that will take me for the next couple of years until i am sure that i have the time to invest in shooting as to justify owning a quality gun. I won't regret it if I scraped the Escort after 2 years but I will be put off if I bought a Beretta and had to go a repair it after couple of weeks; even if it is a trigger spring. In short, i am testing the waters and i reckon a 500 quid should be a ceiling for such exercise. Cheers,
wildoliver
In that case go for it mate, however I'd just go with the standard escort in that case, keep your cost input as low as possible!
