Suffolk shooter
Had the last couple of days off work in bed with Man-flu and wasn't really looking to going in to work this morning, you know that feeling when you just know that nobody has done anything whilst you have been away and the paper work piles up. Got in early to try and make a dent in it when after half an hour our young blond 25 year old admin assistant comes in and says "Morning, I've got something to cheer you up" Well you can imagine mind goes into overdrive with thoughts such as "How long have I got until the rest of the office turns up" etc. All thoughts were soon banished when she said "I 've been speaking to my Dad (He's a farmer), and he'd like you to come and sort the Pigeons out on the Rape fields for us, plus rabbits and Foxes". Sounds great, but the farm is in the Fens and if you have ever been there you know its as flat as a pancake (Some parts actually below sea level) with little or no cover for miles, not even a dandilion sticking above the grass margins (Oops sorry Droves) so much so that the moon is less barren, It seems they are getting plagued and need a hand. I have a plan to lie in the dykes and ambush the birds as they come in, setting up a dense camo net overhead blind, but wonder if any one else has attempted the same thing out there with what results. Suffolk shooter
Cheers Dave Just out of interest did it take you long to construct the dandilion hide and was it sturdy enough in the howling winds that plague the fens. As for trees and bushes, nowt about there, and I just feel a hide will stick out like the proverbial there. SS
