bignoel Posted April 7, 2008 Report Share Posted April 7, 2008 a friend of mine was given a 4 year old springer for nothing is it to late for him to try and train it.now i dont know if he has learned any basics or not you know sit stay lay.but he seems to think he will win him round i am not to sure what do you think is it poss. bob300w Posted April 7, 2008 Report Share Posted April 7, 2008 (edited) It's obviously not going to be as straightforward as training a pup, but it can be done, it's as much a matter of getting rid of bad habits as training. Springers are intelligent and eager to please, that makes it easier, let us know how he gets on with it. I would be wary of the true reason that it was given away though, I was given one this age once, the reason was that it dug holes in carpets, not true at all, the real reason was that it suffered from fits, it died whilst having one after a year of training.
