Have heard that if water gets into your action it can cause it to rust and stick. Obviously don't want this happening. Salopian Posted September 20, 2004 Report Share Posted September 20, 2004 Remove Butt pad, undo stock retaining bolt, CAREFULLY pull stock of the action, wash off mechanismn with WD40 (water displacement oil) sparingly re-oil with light oil and then re-assemble.
