FBF
ppriced a job today for a local land owner with 12 acres, not very much but i grateful for him to let me have a roam. my question is this: he said i can have permission to shoot any time i like, but how do i move forward with that? i dont want to be too keen and for him to think im going to be there on a regular basis etc as its all around his home. i get the impression he kind of meant 'yeah come and have a shoot any time you like if you want to,' rather than 'yes i need vermin control, great' how should i move on from this point? i know his neighbors are all land owners too, i want to get this right

Then take it from there. Edited May 11, 2008 by DaveK
Suffolk shooter
Also, take a permission letter with you for him to sign explaining to him that as a safe and responsible shooter you want to make sure that there is no misunderstanding should someone approach you whilst out on his land, along with a copy of your insurance details. This helps when you go knocking on the neighbours doors and can truely say I have permission on so and so's land , look here's the signed permission. I got the farmer to sign one for me and he's happy to update it now I have additional rights after our meeting. All the best. SS
scout
Hi well done I agree with the above post. I wouldn't bee too hasty to go knocking on the neighbours doors yet. Do a good job and let them see you out and about, as they surely will. It'll be better to ask then when you have got a good recommendation from the land owner.
