Vulcha
I've filled al the application in and such, though I'm just wondering, do I put all the bits (the application and the refernces) in the same envelope? Also, can someone who has been my reference be my countersignature person? And whats the critea for the person who does the reference? Do they have to have a degree, or be in the police, or some other sort of profession like the person who does your passport countersignature? Any advice would be rather gratefully recieved! njc110381
I can't remember the SGC application, but on the firearms application your reference isn't supposed to give you the paperwork back and should send it seperately. Almost anyone can be a referee as long as they're fairly respectable. Your boss, soldiers, civil servants. One thing I find really funny is that a serving police officer isn't acceptable, they obviously can't be trusted

I put all the information in the one envalope. I hand delivered mine though because the police HQ was only a few miles away. As for references then the person needs to be of good reputation so sombody in a proffesional occupation can sign. A police officer is not allowed to sign for you. You only need one counter signiture so it can be the same person as the referee. Cheers taz
Vulcha
I see. So I could get my mate who I go shooting with, and have known for about 9 years to fill it in? He knows better than most what I'm like with a gun and what not.

Another shooter from your area is good because the FEO will more than likely have dealt with him. Cheers taz.
Vulcha
Right, so I'll get my mate to sign it and do the counter signature bit, then I'll get some other person to do the other one. Cheers guys!
