Months ago I sent an email to LACS, I can't remember the contents of the email I sent them exactly but it was about shooting it was perfectly polite and I was asking legitimate questions.

Here is the reply I received:

Dear William

>>

>> Many thanks for your email regarding the shooting of birds.

>> Also, my apologies for the delay in getting back to you - as

>> you'll most probably appreciate, the past month has been a

Just thought it may be of interest, I'm suprised that they include this; In addition, we are

>> opposed to shooting for sport when it interferes with

>> people's right to peacefully enjoy the countryside

I sent the email using their website so don't have a copy of it. But she repeatedly talks about shooting for sport. She failede to recognise the use of game/pigeons as a food source in their own right, which my example gave as being part of sustainable harvest.

Unfortunately they also said

>> We are also opposed to interfering with natural population

>> dynamics and the different faunal communities that make up

>> ecosystems, since populations, when left in as wild a

>> situation as possible, are self-regulating (a particularly

>> good example of this is the fox species).

Which is a shame, because the fail to appreciate the whole reason for fox control, or predator control is that their self regulating population may be X foxes per hectare, we all know the effects of foxes, and the reason for control is to say have X/4 foxes per hectare, which will do much less damage and put less pressure on the other animals or ground nesting birds there, allowing their populations to grow whilst keeping the fox population low because lets face it, foxes aren't going to go extinct, or anyway near, for one there are huge reservoirs in the cities, many other organisms don't have the same luxury.

Anyway just thought i'd post it up for you guys to see.

Teal,

At least they responded to you. I have been e-mailing them since May 04, still waiting for a reply, and I was polite (worded it like cranfield would).

They may have been reluctant to answer my questions on why the upper management keep leaving.

But maybe it was my e-mail ad Shootthepigeon@.........

Who knows, and more importantly, who cares.

Losers.
