lupus Posted June 9, 2008 Report Share Posted June 9, 2008 Hi, can anyone help. My 13 year old and me can't zero in a new BSA supersport. The back bit of the sight is as far to the left as it will go and we are still 2 inches from centre at 10 metres. Are there any further adjustments we can make ? The way you hold the gun has to be more spot on with open sights as compared with a scope but i wouldn't have thought you would have been that far out. Check that neither the front sight or back are loose or bent and put the back sight in the centre where it started, rest the gun on a bench or similar when you shoot to eliminate shake,shoot at 10 metres while resting the gun, if you cant get a group without very minor adjustments and resting the gun then take it back and ask them to set it up,it could have taken a knock on the sights or on the barrel,fitting a cheap scope would help as well. Jim145 Posted June 9, 2008 Report Share Posted June 9, 2008 If your resting on something then make sure you've got your hand between the rest and the gun, or it will spit them all over. I fire three shots, then alter the sights, another three then another fine tune, then you eliminate any "fliers" Check if there is any play in the jaws - hold the stock inbetween yours knees and try to move the barell side to side - if it moves it needs nipping up.
