Harnser
Went out today and set up on a field of young beet .Noticed over the last few days a few pigeons were feeding the beet field and decided to see if i could shoot a few . I spent 6 hours on the field and finished up with 18 birds ,a bit of a slow day but 18 birds in the freezer . Some of the barley has got to the milky stage but still no pigeons wanting to feed it yet , but as we all know it can change overnight . Happy hunting . Harnser . anser2
Harnser , I often think that when pigeons are on beet at this time of year they are feeding on chickweed growing in the crop. However last May one of my local farmers showed me where the leaves had been shredded and some small plants pulled out of the ground. He blamed pigeons , but I was never sure as I never saw any numbers on the field. What was in the crop or your birds ?
