p-a-s
hi mark ,dont take this the wrong way it is nothing personel and i am not trying to hijac your post but why on earth do people breed from their ferrets when they havent got prospective homes lined up for the resulting kitts.you have got seven joe bloggs round the corner has got kitts free to good home they soon mount. up ferret rescues are inundated with ferrets looking for good homes.the story of gill ferrets bleeding to death through not breeding is IN MY OPINION a myth as i have 4 working gills that havent bred for 3/4 years at least and havent suffered ill, effects at all. but they are litter tray trained and are cleaned out twice a week often 3 times a week in hot weather if however you have bred from the jills with the intention of keeping a few for your own strain then this is a valid point. if so only let the jill rear what you want to keep and humanley dispach of any unwanted kitts people please get a grip on reality and stop breeding for the sake of it be it dogs, cats, or any domestic /none demestic animal. Once again mark sorry for the outburst but the country/economy is heading for a shock just now and as you may be aware it can only get worse paul

Once again mark sorry for the outburst but the country/economy is heading for a shock just now and as you may be aware it can only get worse paul Hi Paul. some very good points young man. at 50 years + some of age i thought my days of owning ferrets where long gone. but 4 grandkids and just 1 perticular farm made me have some more. the breeding part was the idea of granddaughter 1, 10 years old and is the boss. plus my daughters friend wanted 2 for pets( she has 2 allready). my mate wanted 1 of each to breed to his own pair, i might keep 1 jill. I had the pair given last year from a very nice lad on another forum, so the free bit is just to pass on the favour, and is no reflection on the amount of time and effort that goes into feeding them and all the other bits that go with the keeping of em,dont mind doing it as i think they are amazing animals. thats 5 accounted for, if i had have tapped the rest my mrs would have had my jacobs off, plus its not a thing i could do.
