Ignoring him is a good idea but he should have his own space to go to so a cage would be a good idea. A good trick is get a clock that has hands (ticks) and wrap it in a thin blanket and put that in with him, it gives him the idea of other dogs and settles him a bit, well thats what happend to mine. Im sure the Dan (NTTF) will be here in the morning to sort you out some more. Good luck
dustyfox
Regularly take him out side and every time he does his business outside praise him. If he does his business inside make sure he is told he is doing wrong by saying no and take him out straight the way. The dog is whining because he is lonely he wants you to come to him, ignore him, over time he will get the idea that no one is coming to comfort him. WGD
Crate him for definite; as said it gives him his own space if nothing else and you the peace of mind that he can't damage anything. How old is he? WGD
