TOTAL NOVICE

Hi all,need some avice on the shooting gear,got a gun, cartridges, place to shoot plenty to shoot at. Oh and a trusty dog to fetch them there pigeons once shot.

Hi viffer,what you need to do first b4 trying to kill anything is to get on some clays first for a bit of tuition and make sure u can shoot straight n you never know maybe there you will meet someone who will show you the ropes out in the feild

Hi Botch, ive been shooting clays for a couple of years now,not the best shot in the world,

but im sure to hit something, im from stourbridge.west mids.

 

I was thinking on more the equipment side for advice clothing,hide and decoys just to get me started!

Have you done a search ?

I just use a few full body decoys lofted rather than on the ground, I've allso got a magnet & a bouncer but have most success under a sitty tree without deeks.

Face mask, gloves are essential, drab colours for me rather than cammo, I personally found olive green trousers with an old wax jacket works best.

Fairly open chokes with 32g 6's or a bit tighter with 30g but that's my choice for my situation.

O/U or S/Auto, either are ok.
