hi could do with some help please, am applying for my fac and want advise on which gun to get first i will probally only be granted a .22lr and .17 hmr as this is the first time i have applied for my fac.

 

i have held a sgc for 2 years had no problems. i shoot on two farms to keep the vermin down but my shottie is to loud , used a air rifle the other night was better but it lacked the range.

 

i dont want to spend anymore than £400 including scope per rifle so can anyone help

I'd agree with Cushat about the noise... My .22lr CZ 452 is nigh on silent with a Sak mod on (remember to make sure your application has a slot for a moderator on) and will double the distance you can be effective at compared tto an air rifle.

 

If distance might be an issue for you, then put down for both calibres. The .17 will give you a lot more distance, but at the expense of noise. Both are very good tools though.

I thought you had recently applied for a section 1 shotgun and everything from .22fac air through to a .243. Or did you change your mind after posting for advice on which ones to buy.

 

My advice would be to get yourself a .22rf with a mod. Everyone should start with one, they are fantastic fun, cheap to run and a good intro into rifle shooting. A second hand Cz with a mod and a jolly good scope can be had within your budget.

 

Don't dither any longer...................get your application in today.

 

May not be any good for sniping in Iraq but I understand Mossad favor them.
