On the back of the legs of Male Red Partridge (like pheasant) You'll have what's called a ''spur'', a small pointy growth kinda like a dew claw for birds, and almost look like an extra toe for partridge. Females, won't (Bring up pictures from the net) So, a female (no spur) And a Male (spur) The spur itself will change in shape and pointyness as he gets older, another good way of telling his age too.
