Si-Bore
Hey guys I have had no pigeon hitting the rape stubble around my way this year. They are feeding on swathed rape and layed barley still. I hope things change soon as they are getting ploughed this week. How long do you guys find the birds take to get onto barley and wheat stubble after it is cut? The farmer is out now cutting the barley he started 2 weeks ago but was rained off then. Cheers Si
tulkyuk
They will be on the stubble the same day - sometimes even as the farmer is still cutting
Highlander
Rape stubble can be difficult if a) latest most modern combines used as they 'hoover' up almost all the seed or farmer/driver cuts it long which the birds don't seem to like as landing is difficult.
