drut
If you search "youtube" for digital ranger, night ranger, yukon ranger etc. you come up with quite a few e.g. . I know that there is an early & a later version but have never used one,IIRC there was a lot of discussion on the airgun bbs about them. JohnGalway
has any body got the yukon digital binos could anybody tell me how good they are/what distance can you spot a rabbit with em,or a fox The entirety of the question is difficult to answer, a simple answer won't do it justice. Who let out that sigh down the back? Firstly, get one that is made in RUSSIA. I've also had one and I think it was made in one of the Baltic states, either Lithuania or Latvia. It was not as good as the Russian made one, not nearly as good. I do not know why but please take my word for it. I know one of the Daves on here has one, it could be made in Belarus I can't remember exactly, I've not compared that to the other models. I've not spotted foxes with it, though I have watched one I spotted initially with the lamp with it. I watched her at 184 yards no problem what so ever, could see which way she was lying down, swishing her tail, what direction she was looking when she was looking away from me. One note, using the inbuilt IR they EAT batteries so either get a lot of rechargeables on Ebay or a Diopol L3 (I think) laser that you could mount underneath the unit. Now, spotting. For rabbits you can easily use it for spotting. Because they obviously act so differently from foxes and just sit about a lot fo the time they're easy to spot. I could see sheeps eyes out past 170 yards, foxes farther. Can't remember for rabbits sorry. I believe it's too fiddly for using to spot foxes unless you have big fields really, foxes can move around a lot and quickly too. I tried it a few nights and found I was messing about with the focus wayyy too much for my liking. The focus is a problem, you need to adjust it see properly at different ranges. If I was to go again I don't think I'd get one for spotting foxes. Something a lot more expensive would suit better for foxes, in my opinion, but then again that's a lot more money.... What few user reports I've read on the new Yukon Ranger Pro are that it doesn't live up to it's improved price tag. They're actually monoculars, not bins. I made the same mistake The nightvision section of the Airgun BBS probably has more information on them than elsewhere.
